The vet clinic's office is located in Solomons and provides veterinary services for animals in the surrounding neighborhoods of Lusby, Brooms Island, Dowell, Port Republic, Prince Frederick, St. Leonard, St. Mary's, as well as California, MD. Solomons Veterinary Medical Center provides a range of services including preventative medical care. The hospital provides wellness programs and services, Sentinel heartworm and parasite prevention, wellness screening for diseases and regular check-ups. Pet dentistry is available at the vet clinic, which includes regular and specialized dental care and teeth cleanings. Surgical procedures, like spaying/neutering and laser surgery, are offered too.
The vet also provides dermatology to care for skin problems, diagnosis and treatment of pet allergies, and has an in-house pharmacy to provide medications and treatments. In addition to these preventative and medical procedures, both urgent and emergency vet care are available.
The vet clinic was established in 1993 and has four veterinarians on staff, including Dr. Nancy E. Ball, Dr. Jodi Edwards and Dr. Jill Ausenbaugh,. Dr. Ball has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1983 and along with Dr. Edwards and Dr. Ausenbaugh, strives to provide the finest and most advanced veterinary care available.
In addition to modern, state-of-the-art facilities and expert veterinary care, the veterinarians and vet employees volunteer their services for local animal shelters and pet adoption programs. One of the animal welfare societies the vets work with is P.A.W.S., a volunteer group that fosters animals until they are adopted by an individual or family.
The vets also donate time to groups that treat and care for feral cats. Solomons has its own pet adoption program and is a supporter of the Calbert Animal Welfare League. The veterinarians and staff take animal welfare seriously and work diligently to provide the best in veterinary care.
